Dr. Andy Ingersoll loves being a pediatric dentist! As the only board certified pediatric dentist in Shasta County, he combines advanced clinical training, years of experience, and a genuine love for working with children to create a welcoming environment where young patients can feel comfortable, confident, and cared for.
Dr. Andy’s journey in dentistry began at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, where he graduated in 2010. During dental school, he received the prestigious Dean’s Clinical Achievement Award, recognizing his outstanding clinical abilities. He was also awarded a Health Professions Scholarship from the United States Air Force and commissioned as an officer in 2007.
Following dental school, Dr. Andy completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska, where he received extensive training in advanced dental procedures. He subsequently served a three-year assignment at RAF Lakenheath in England as a member of the 48th Dental Squadron.
It was during his military service in England that Dr. Andy discovered his true passion: caring for children. Working with the children of military families was especially rewarding, and those experiences ultimately inspired him to pursue a career specializing in pediatric dentistry.
After completing his military service, Dr. Andy partnered with three fellow Air Force dentists to establish Royal Oak Dental Group in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a founding partner, he played an instrumental role in expanding the organization through practice acquisitions and business development.
Despite his success in general dentistry and practice management, his passion for helping children continued to grow. He was subsequently accepted into the highly competitive Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was one of just two residents selected for his class. He completed his specialty training in June 2018.
Following residency, Dr. Andy practiced at Carson City Pediatric Dentistry in Nevada, further developing his expertise in providing comprehensive dental care for infants, children, and adolescents.
In 2020, Dr. Andy fulfilled his longtime dream of building his own dental practice. Through Shasta Kids Dentistry, he is proud to serve families throughout Redding and the surrounding Northern California communities.
Dr. Andy’s philosophy is simple: treat every child with the same patience, kindness, and attention he would want for his own children. He understands that early dental experiences can shape a child’s attitude toward oral health for years to come, and he strives to make every visit as comfortable, educational, and enjoyable as possible.
Dr. Andy met his wife, Lauren, during his college years, and together they are raising five wonderful children—three daughters and two sons. Family is at the center of his life, and when he’s not caring for patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, traveling, skiing, hiking, biking, and exploring the outdoors.
As both a father of five and a pediatric dentist, Dr. Andy understands firsthand the importance of earning a child’s trust and helping parents feel confident in their children’s dental care.
Dr. Andy looks forward to welcoming your family to Shasta Kids Dentistry and helping your children build healthy, happy smiles!
